But just outside the village, you&#8217;ll find the lesser-known <strong>Waldbachstrub Wasserfall<\/strong>, where you&#8217;ll encounter very few people. It&#8217;s not an ultra-giant waterfall, but it&#8217;s a nice walk and you can do a loop with a view of Lake <strong>Hallstattersee<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Tip:<\/strong> There are fewer tourists in the morning and the sun beautifully illuminates the mist over the waterfall; we met so few people in the morning that we could count them on one hand.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Route:<\/strong> 3 km round trip from the parking lot, but you can also do a loop for the lake view.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Elevation gain:<\/strong> approx. 200 m<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Difficulty:<\/strong> easy, suitable for children and seniors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Ameisstein \u2013 a view of a beautiful lake without the crowds<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>Forget overcrowded viewpoints \u2013 Ameisstein above Lake Almsee offers a magnificent panorama. You can also combine it with a visit to the nearby <strong>Hinterer Gosausee<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Loop around the lake:<\/strong> 4.5 km or a 13 km loop including the back lake<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Difficulty:<\/strong> easy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Where to stay nearby?<\/h3>\n\n<p>A highly-rated <a href=\"https:\/\/booking.stay22.com\/michaelahrda\/d0SMygr7Zv\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">apartment<\/a> at a reasonable price. There&#8217;s also a <strong>wellness<\/strong> area in the building, which is always nice after a hike.  <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Drachenwand &amp; Intersport Via Ferrata<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>Some of the most famous via ferratas in Austria, but they are truly worth it. You&#8217;ll find the Intersport one right by Gosausee. <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Tip:<\/strong> If you want to <strong>avoid the crowds, go in the late afternoon<\/strong> when you&#8217;ll have the ferratas almost to yourself. <strong>Just be careful during the descent<\/strong>; plan it so you&#8217;re walking while it&#8217;s still light.
